Chisinau to host “Moldova Business Week 2014” on June 5-11

The investment week “Moldova Business Week 2014” will take place in Chisinau between June 5 and 11. In its April 16 meeting, the Government is to approve a decision on the conception of this event, IPN reports.

“Moldova Business Week 2014” will include the Exporters Forum, which is the Vienna Economic Forum’s session in Chisinau, a number of roundtable meetings on the prospects of the development regions, and an exhibition titled “Investment potential of regions and local companies”. The objective of the event is to attract investors’ attention to Moldova’s regions with development potential and to the new opportunities that will appear after the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU.

The organizational committee will be led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar. The budget of the investment week “Moldova Business Week 2014” is 300,000 lei. The costs will be covered with money from the Export Promotion Fund of Moldova. The Government will also allocate €23,000 from its reserve fund, which is the tax for organizing the Vienna Economic Forum in Chisinau.

The Vienna Economic Forum, founded in 2004, is an economic forum popularizing and promoting investment opportunities in the region from the Adriatic Sea to the Black Sea. It is one of the most important European nongovernment associations that includes Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Slovenia, Turkey, and Ukraine. The first meeting of the Vienna Economic Forum took place in 2004. On February 20-21, 2008, the Forum was held in Chisinau.
