National companies that registered brands and trademarks can submit applications to take part in the contests “Trademark of the Year” and “Award for achievements in the field of quality of goods and services” until March 29. According to the organizers, it is an opportunity to recognize and reward excellence in innovation and added value through the identity and reputation of a brand, IPN reports.
Eugeniu Rusu, director general of the State Agency on Intellectual Property, told a press conference that recognizing and promoting business excellence are vital for economic development and for strengthening the position in the global market. From the first edition until now, the contest “Trademark of the Year” has become a symbol of performance in the business environment of the Republic of Moldova.
Sergiu Harea, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, said that the winners of the contest are decided as a result of a survey among consumers, but also of an assessment carried out by a committee that examines the submitted files. The 20 editions of the contest “Trademark of the Year” involved over 1,800 trademarks. This shows the economic agents’ increased interest in investing in intellectual property, in the image of companies.
Sergiu Harea noted that it is important to highlight companies that implement quality standards. In this regard, the “Award for achievements in the field of quality of goods and services” was initiated and this contest is now at its 10th edition. So far, during the nine editions, 450 participants were declared winners.
For the grand prize “Golden Mercury”, trademarks can be registered in the contest for one or more nominations. The winners will be awarded at the “Moldovan Business Gala” at the beginning of June.
