Building structures near power lines will be prohibited by authorities to prevent accidents and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. The regulation establishing this measure has been published in the Official Gazette, IPN reports.
According to the new regulation, clear restrictions will be imposed on the use of land near power lines, and the construction of residential and non-residential buildings in these critical areas will be prohibited.
This measure is deemed necessary in the context of modernizing Moldova's energy infrastructure, including interconnection projects with Romania’s energy system through the high-voltage power line "Vulcanesti-Chisinau", as outlined in the approved document.
Statistics show that in Moldova, the power transmission networks span approximately 6,228 km of lines, while distribution networks total 56,850 km, located on both public and private land.
