The national convention of Our Party (formally known as Partidul Politic Partidul Nostru, or PPPN) has officially nominated its leader Renato Usatîi for president, with his endorsement group to seek registration with the Central Electoral Commission today.

During a launch event at the Palace of the Republic Wednesday evening, Usatîi advocated for a presidential system where “a sole leader is in charge”.

“The only way to save Moldova is through a dictatorship of order in the interest of the state and with responsibility towards the citizens. One that strikes fear into thieves, corrupt people and traitors, and one that gives freedom back to the citizens. I will be president for business people, retirees, doctors, teachers, the youth and all ordinary citizens. But I will be a dictator for those who stole from us and abused us all these years”, Usatîi told the convention.

The politician went on to declare that he wants to “destroy the rotten system in the country created over the course of 30 years”. “I want us to stand with our heads held high and no longer depend on the whims of the West, or the East. The mandate of the future president of the country must be about order, justice and welfare. I will make sure that all the parents and children in our country live the same as my parents and children”, declaimed Usatîi.
