Dorin Junghietu and Eduard Calancea to be considered again for posts at Moldovagaz

The nomination of Dorin Junghietu to the position of president of Moldovagaz and of Eduard Calancea for member of the company’s Board of Directors will be put to the vote again. Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov told about the consensus reached with Gazprom at a news conference centering on the results of his visit to St. Petersburg, where the two candidates also went, IPN reports.

"We had a stage when the appointment of the Board of Directors was proposed, but the sides did not reach a consensus and the new board was not named. Respectively, today we have the situation when Mr. Vadim Ceban fulfils the duties of interim director of Moldovagaz. But we want the company to be fully functional. What we agreed with Gazprom is that these people will be voted on again in a meeting of the Supervisory Board," said Victor Parlicov.

Under these conditions, the minister noted, the discussions on the draft law that provides for the appointment of temporary administration at energy companies are no longer pertinent.

On September 25, the new Board of Directors of Moldovagaz was to be named. Vadim Ceban remained interim director, given the lack of agreement in the Supervisory Board that consists of six members - two on behalf of the Republic of Moldova and four on behalf of Gazprom. Decisions are approved by at least five votes.

Moldovagaz is 50% owned by Gazprom, 35.3% by the Public Property Agency of the Republic of Moldova and 13.14% by Tiraspoltransgaz.
