EFTA agreement in force. Entrepreneurs export without taxes or with exemptions

Starting Tuesday, entrepreneurs from the Republic of Moldova can export without taxes or with reduced taxes to all EFTA member states. The Free Trade Agreement with EFTA countries is 100% functional and enters into force on April 1, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, this is another important step on the path of international economic integration.

Thus, economic agents will be able to expand their presence in some of the most prosperous markets of the world, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, with over 15 million potential consumers.

Among the Moldovan products with export potential to EFTA countries are wine and spirits, grapes and fresh fruit - apples, plums, cherries - natural honey, sunflower oil and oilseeds, packaging, but also clothing and footwear.

In June 2023, Moldova signed a historic free trade agreement with EFTA. During the next two years, the agreement was ratified by all signatory states and, starting with April this year, Moldovan entrepreneurs will benefit from this opportunity.
