Electric power market saw upwards trends last year
The electric power consumption in 2010 increased by 101.1 million kWh or about 3.1% compared with a year before, to 3.311,6 billion kWh. The volume of electricity produced by the Moldovan power plants rose by 22.3 million kWh or about 2.6% to 888.1 million kWh, shows a report by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE), quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The largest power producer – the Thermoelectric Plant (CET)-2 – in 2010 generated 665.4 million kWh of electricity, by 26.2 million kWh or 4.1% more than in 2009. CET-1 produced 82 million kWh, by 34.7 million kWh or 32.3% less than a year earlier.
The other two producers - CET – Nord and IS NHE Costesti – produced by 6.7% and, respectively, 45% more power than in 2009. The volume of power generated by the national power plants satisfied 22.7% of the country's needs.
The report says the three power distribution companies supplied higher volumes of electricity. RED Nord–Vest increased the volume by 3.7%, RED Union Fenosa – by 3.5%, while RED Nord – by 2.4%.
Power consumption amid household consumers rose by 64 million kWh or 4.4%, while amid non-household consumers (industrial, agricultural, trading companies, budget-funded institutions, etc.) – by 37.1 million kWh or 2.1%.
The analysis of flows in the electric power networks showed the rate of technological consumption and commercial losses continued to decrease in 2010.
