Farmers can get up to US$1m by applying for AGGRI grants

The period of applications for the third AGGRI grant call, a project that supports the modernization of livestock farms, has begun. Farmers specializing in cattle, sheep and goat breeding for milk, meat and mixed activities can submit their files by April 4, 2025, IPN reports.

According to the authorities, the maximum value of a grant is US$1 million, provided that the amount does not exceed 50% of the value of the eligible investment. The funds are intended to support investments in the development and modernization of the livestock sector.

"The money can be used for the construction and modernization of livestock farms, purchase of high-performance machinery and technological equipment, as well as for the development of milk and meat processing infrastructure. Investments in the necessary technological infrastructure, including energy and water supply systems, are also eligible," reads a press release from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.

To qualify for grants, applicants must meet a number of requirements. They must be individual farmers or groups of producers, registered and active on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, except for the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti

Applicants must legally own the assets involved in the investment and submit a viable business plan for a period of 5 years.

At the same time, the persons who will want to enroll in the project should prove the existence of co-financing of at least 50% of the value of the eligible investment, through own resources, bank loans or other sources.
