“Made in Moldova” exhibition opened

“At Home! Authentic! Autochthonous!” - this is the slogan of this year’s edition of the national exhibition “Made in Moldova”, which was opened on Wednesday at Moldexpo. The event has a new logo – the map of the Republic of Moldova surrounded by a circle, which signifies the unity and mobility of entrepreneurs, authorities and consumers to develop the national economy. The exhibition gathered together over 350 domestic companies operating in all sectors of the national economy, IPN reports.

Sergiu Harea, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, said the exhibition comes to support and promote the domestic producer, to popularize products both on the domestic and foreign markets. A  well-thought-out business program will be staged so that entrepreneurs from the Republic of Moldova and the official delegations from China, Italy, Poland, North Macedonia and France, who come to know the Republic of Moldova, meet face to face.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that this exhibition proves that Moldova has talents, innovations, people who know how to produce and market services and products that are appreciated both locally and internationally. “We have companies with very good products, with products that are appreciated internationally. This is what we should be proud of. This should encourage us, while the Government will continue to support the initiative and local producers through various programs,” stated the official, noting that the European integration process “opens up even more markets and, respectively, we can capitalize on this enormous potential both in the European Union, but also in countries that have the same legal regime and have the same regime of industrial norms, service norms.”

MP Radu Marian, chairman of the parliamentary commission for economy, budget and finance, said the accession to the EU is the most important objective for both the Government and Parliament. “I think we all understand the benefits of having a market of 500 million people. I think it is easier to grow a business in a market of 500 million people in the European Union than in one of 2.5 million. And this is also our goal, to provide more opportunities for economic growth for our country in the accession process. EU membership doesn’t just come with rights as it also comes with particular responsibilities. Obviously, we need to become better, to improve everything that means technological capacity, production volume, the way we promote our production” stated the parliamentarian.

Italy is the country invited to the current edition of the event. Italian companies operating in the Republic of Moldova participate with a common stand.

The national exhibition “Made in Moldova” 2024 can be visited until February 4.
