Moldova Apa-Canal: Viorica Carare misinforms consumers

Moldova Apa-Canal denies that SA Apa-Canal Chisinau avoided implementing the law on the protection of consumers as the head of the National Agency for Competition Protection Viorica Carare asserted in a TV program, Info-Prim Neo reports. The dispute is directly connected with the article that says the company is obliged to use its own, legal and verified measuring equipment when providing services. In a communiqué, Moldova Apa-Canal says that for the law on the protection of consumers to be implemented, the Government of Moldova should first adopt the implementation mechanism. As to the statement that Apa-Canal-Balti complied with the mentioned law and installs water meters at its own expense, made by the head of the National Agency for Competition Protection, Moldova Apa-Canal says that both of the companies use the same normative and legislative acts. “IM Apa-Canal-Balti did not set up water meters in apartments at its own expense. We can thus say that Viorica Carare misinforms the consumers,” it is said in the communiqué. Moldova Apa-Canal makes reverence to the law on drinking water, which says that one of the principles of the state policy in the given area is to provide drinking water supply services for payment under contracts, while the charges are in line with the costs incurred.
