Oleg Tofilat vacates the post of director general of the state-owned enterprise “Moldovan Railways”. He tendered his resignation to the founding institution, the Public Property Agency, IPN reports.
“Until a successor is named, Oleg Tofilat will continue to exercise his duties to ensure the normal operating activities of the enterprise,” reads a press release of “Moldovan Railways”.
It was recently rumored that the entity has faced financial problems and the employees have not yet received their salaries as a result. Oleg Tofilat admitted to this. According to him, the company has only the money it earns, while the reduction in revenues has generated salary arrears.
Oleg Tofilat has held the post of director of “Moldovan Railways” since May 2021. When he served as adviser to the Prime Minister on transport and infrastructure, he participated in the competition for filling the vacant position of the enterprise’s director and was designated winner.
