The rural entrepreneurs will be the target of the program to attract remittances to Moldovan economy PARE 1+1 in 2017. A sum of 40 million lei was budgeted for this year, while financing will become available in May, IPN reports.

Director of the Organization for the Development of the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Sector Iulia Iabanji, in a national conference entitled “Remittances – a source of economic amplification of regions” on March 28, said the set of conditions that the entrepreneurs will have to meet to get financing are being worked out. An agreement to supplement the budget will be signed with the EU before the launch of this year’s edition of the program.

“The village is the target this year. All the efforts will be concentrated on the village. We also launched a campaign entitled “We revive together, we revive the village”. We aim to identify persons in villages who are able to start a business and to offer them support, training and financing,” stated Iulia Iabanji.

Attending the conference, Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac said the authorities will make effort for the program to continue. “We will go to villages to identify persons with entrepreneurial spirit and will offer them not only training, but also financing so that they manage to start those businesses that are necessary to our economy, which would generate jobs,” he stated.

The PARE 1+1 program was launched in 2010. A sum of 163 million lei for almost 1,000 startups was allocated from the state budget during seven years. The state allocates 1 leu per 1 leu invested by Moldovan migrants or their relatives. At most 200,000 lei is provided in financial assistance for one business. Slightly over half of the businesses initiated within the program are agribusinesses. These are followed by businesses in industry and the service sector.
