Record for agriculture: Apple exports to Europe have doubled

Moldova's apple exports to the European Union market have doubled since the beginning of this year so far. The value of exports in 2024 amounted to almost 230 million lei and is twice as much as in the same period last year, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization, the record is due to the dedication and hard work of the country's farmers, as well as the support provided by the authorities, which ensure policies and mechanisms for access to new markets.

"Another decisive factor is the extension of trade liberalization with the EU for another year, a measure that opens up huge opportunities for producers here at home. The figures speak for themselves: the share of EU countries in apple exports has increased from 0.4% in 2021 to 18% in 2024", reads a post published on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Economic Development.
