Table grapes were sold this year at a record average price of 10.7 lei per kilogram, says economic expert Veaceslav Ionita. The price of grapes rose by 60% compared to the previous year, IPN reports.
According to the economist, the export price of Moldovan grapes has also increased, the quantity exceeded two thirds of the harvest. "The export price rose from USD 1/kg last year to USD 1.5/kg in 2024. High demand and low supply have led to the highest price in history", Ionita says.
Expert Veaceslav Ionita says the lower fruit set and unfavorable weather conditions reduced production by more than 30% compared to last year.
