Red Union Fenosa awarded Golden Mercury in Trademark of 2010 contest
The electricity supplier Red Union Fenosa SA received the top prize Golden Mercury in the eighth Trademark of the Year contest. It was awarded in the Profi section for the most successful long-term strategy for using the trademark – more than five years in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from Red Union Fenosa.
According to the communique, the administration of Red Union Fenosa regards this prize as recognition of the efforts made in the energy sector with the aim of improving its work for the benefit of the national economy and the people.
The prize was handed over by Prime Minister Vlad Filat, who said that this event is an occasion for assessing and praising the companies that make goods and provide services.
Moldova's Acting President Marian Lupu congratulated the laureates of the contest, wishing them to maintain the quality of the products and services.
Gheorghe Cucu, head of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Moldova, said that in a powerful market economy where competition is stiff, the trademark influences the consumer's choice.
In the seventh Trademark of the Year contest, Red Union Fenosa was awarded the Golden Mercury in the Socially Responsible Trademark section.
A number of 70 companies took part in the contest this year. They submitted 86 projects in 16 categories. The Trademark of the Year contest is organized by the Chamber of Trade and Industry in cooperation with the State Agency on Intellectual Property.
