The Regional Development Agency Centru announced the completion of the works to repair a road section of about 1 km within the project to improve access to the national roads Chisinau-Hancesti-Cimislia-Basarabeasca R3 and Chisinau-Leova R34, IPN reports.

The repaired section forms part of a bypass going from the direction of Basarabeasca towards Cahul, Chisinau and Europe, through the Leuseni Customs Post. At the second stage, there will be built 1.4 km or road. The territory adjoining the land will be laid out and street lighting will be set up.

The bypass will ensure connection with the local Industrial Park. It is anticipated that this will have positive effects on the economy by increasing the employment rate and boosting the SME sector.

The value of the project is over 73 million lei. A sum of 28 million lei of this will be provided from the National Regional Development Fund. 15 million lei has been already allocated. The second stage of the project begins in 2016.
