Romania’s tourist and cultural contest “Destination of the Year” expands to Moldova

The tourist and cultural contest “Destination of the Year” held in Romania is expanding to Moldova, enabling ten representatives of tourist destinations and attractions of the Republic of Moldova to enter the competition, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova noted that the project comes to encourage competitiveness in order to increase awareness and strengthen Moldova’s position as a tourist destination by promoting the country tourism brand, destinations, forms of tourism and tourism products of Moldova on the domestic market and in Romania.

As part of the contest, there will be offered seven prizes for tourist destinations, seven prizes for tourist attractions and a special prize: Destination of the Year in the Republic of Moldova. The finalists from the Republic of Moldova will be voted in the same categories as those from Romania: Public Vote, Jury Vote, Visionary Destination Research. The public vote doesn’t depend on borders as Romanian, Moldovan or other citizens who wish to express their preference will be able to vote.

The proposals, according to the completed form, must be sent to the National Tourism Office at office@turism.gov.md by March 14.
