The faction of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) in the Chisinau Municipal Council urges colleagues from all factions to abstain from voting on more than 40 zonal urban plans. According to the municipal councillors, they will allow the construction of residential housing complexes with multi-storey apartment blocks without social infrastructure, IPN reports.
In a press conference, the chairwoman of the PAS faction in the CMC, Zinaida Popa, said that "on the City Hall's agenda there are over 40 zonal urban plans" and draws attention to the fact that it is allowed "to build residential complexes in 40 locations in Chisinau without social infrastructure, such as schools, kindergartens, networks, transportation routes".
Zinaida Popa said that "residential blocks without social infrastructure are to be built in the area of Mezon factory, Creanga circle, and complexes without infrastructure do not meet the needs of residents, create new problems for citizens and the city".
"Chisinau should develop rationally and correctly, housing complexes with new multi-storey blocks should be built harmoniously, in areas where there is not a high population density, in areas where there is adequate infrastructure," Dumitru Ivanov, deputy chairman of the PAS faction in the CMC, emphasized.
In response, Natalia Ixari, an advisor in the office of the Mayor of the Capital, said that the accusation of the PAS faction is "an attempt to deviate from the main topic regarding the lack of state funding for teachers at the end of the year, an obligation expressly written in the law; they want to leave teachers without salaries and prizes, in the run-up to the winter holidays".
