Valeriu Pleșca, former minister of defense, was officially nominated by the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE) as its candidate in the October 20 presidential election.

The party’s leadership said that “in these difficult times we need a professional, experienced and patriotic head of state who can bring the country out of the crisis”.

Pleșca declared that he will “work with dedication, together with the social-democratic team, to obtain a worthy result in the electoral poll”.

Also, the party reiterated that it will actively campaign for European integration in the simultaneous referendum on October 20. “The European path is the only one able to ensure the security and well-being of Moldovans”.
