The volume of cash releases from banks’ cash offices last year declined by 0.1% compared to the previous year and amounted to 174.458,5 billion lei, IPN reports.
According to the National Bank of Moldova, the volume of cumulative cash releases from banks’ cash offices exceeded by 4.102,0 billion lei the volume of cumulative cash receipts in the banking system. The volume of cumulative cash receipts in banks’ cash offices came to 170.356,5 billion lei.
The central bank noted that a major impact on the evolution of cash releases from banks’ cash offices was made, on the one hand, by the decrease in cash releases for the purchase of currency from individuals by 5.879,7 billion lei (-12.5%), in releases for other purposes by 5.383,8 billion lei (-18.9%) and in cash releases in the form of loans to individuals by 341.4 billion lei (-9.7%). On the other hand, the amounts dispensed by ATMs grew by 11.398,6 billion lei (+18.9%).
