Ten companies have presented their investment projects before potential backers at the Fair of Eco-Responsible Project Ideas in Chisinau on December 3. The most successful projects could receive financing from the investors attending the event, which included banks, investment funds and development partners, IPN reports.

Energy Efficiency Agency director Mihail Stratan sad the companies that will convince the investors that their project is feasible will be able to get state-guaranteed loans in advantageous conditions. “In a relatively short period of time, since October 28 until November 28, there were submitted 21 projects. The best ten were selected for being presented, but all of them can get financing. Such projects show that Moldova can have a bright energy future,” he stated.

Among the companies applying for financing is “Biagro-Invest”, which grows acacia for its biomass. According to director Vladimir Bragaru, though such a type of activity is not well known in Moldova, this is an ambitious project. “The acacia can give 30 tonnes of biomass per hectare a year. This is a huge energy potential. Owing to its growth power, the acacia can supply Moldova with biomass for direct burning and for producing pellets and briquettes for a long period. The length of life of an acacia plantation is 25-30 years,” he stated.

The representative of the company “Cvadro therm” Victor Juparca said that among other things they exhibited a pump that uses the energy emitted by air or the earth crust and transforms it into heat for heating homes or water.

Dumitru Slonovschi, the representative of “Energy Solaris”, said they came with an innovative project for our country – a solar panel that, installed on the roof of a house, allows heating the home using energy from the sun. This panel does not replace the centralized heating system, but reduces the heating costs.

Among the presented Eco-Responsible project ideas are also energy-efficient apartment buildings and residential complexes and hydroelectric plants. The winners of the Fair of Eco-Responsible Project Ideas will be announced in a gala on December 5.
