As many as 101 persons were cured of COVID-19 and discharged from the hospital on April 22. The total number of infections with the novel coronavirus now stands at 2,778. A number of 218 infected persons are in a serious state, with 15 of these being intubated. The updated information was presented by Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu, IPN reports.
After the April 23 meeting of the National Focal Point, the minister said that 11 pregnant women confirmed with COVID-19 are now receiving treatment, while 27 pregnant women have been discharged.
As many as 661 persons have been cured of COVID-19 so far.
Viorica Dumbrăveanu noted that the implementation of the new method of treatment based on plasma taken from persons who recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies was launched successfully. The first voluntary donor of plasma was a doctor. Two more patients cured of COVID-19 donated plasma on April 22.
According to the minister, Moldova will today receive a batch of humanitarian aid from Turkey with protective equipment for medical personnel that are in the frontline in the fight against the pandemic.
