10,400 state-funded places available in technical vocational education

After graduating from secondary school, students can apply for the almost 10,400 state-funded places at technical vocational education institutions. Most of the places – 6,805 – are in vocational schools and centers of excellence, while 3,566 are in colleges, IPN reports.

“As usual, we lay emphasis on dual education, that form of education where young people have the opportunity to learn and work at the same time, have an income and practical experience. 1,896 places will be offered specifically for dual education,” Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun stated in the Cabinet’s meeting at which the state order for the training of specialized staff in technical vocational education institutions for the 2024-2025 academic year was approved.

According to the minister, there is a great interest from companies in dual education. “This year, over 2,000 places are offered by companies. We have strived to convince them to offer and participate in this program. We are hopeful that we will fully cover the state budget-funded places and will have 1/5 of all those who study in dual education,” said the official.
