The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) on March 20 penalized 13 TV channels for not observing the rules concerning the share of national products, IPN reports.
Thus, the channels were warned publicity and will be monitored repeatedly. These are: “N 4”, “Pro TV Chisinau”, “Super TV”, “Bravo”, “Ren Moldova”, “RTR Moldova”, “Accent TV”, “Prime”, “Canal 3”, “Canal 2”, “TV 7”, “CTC Mega” and “Acasa in Moldova”.
When discussing the reports, the members of the BCC expressed their concern about the fact that most of the TV channels that were monitored do not obey the rules that the national products must represent 30% of the broadcast schedule and that at least half of these must be transmitted during prime time in the official language. Some of the TV channels rerun a series of programs or broadcast musical videos at night.
The Council called on the broadcasters to produce more programs of a high quality in the Romanian language.
