This year, the President's scholarship will go to 15 university and vocational school students who obtained high grades, but also notable results at Olympiads and in scientific activities. A draft decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, IPN reports.
"Every year we select the best university students and the best students in technical vocational education to award them the scholarship of the President of the Republic of Moldova. Traditionally, we made this pre-selection. We chose 15 winners based on 25 files submitted by university students and 47 files submitted by technical school students," said Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun.
The proposals regarding the nominations were formulated by the university senates and teachers' councils of colleges and were examined by specialized commissions attached to the Ministry of Education.
The winners of the President's scholarship are those who have high grades of 9 and 10 and who took part in scientific research activities, conferences, national and international Olympiads.
The President's scholarship is 3,690 lei for university students and 2,860 le for college students.
