Twenty localities in the Republic of Moldova will receive by €60,000 for projects aimed at improving the people’s access to high-quality public services. The money is provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) within the Program “My Community”, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the communities were chosen on a competitive basis. The memorandum signed by the Program “My Community” and the 20 communities envisions the development of a cooperation program whose end result will be the improvement of the people’s access to high-quality public services, the citizens’ involvement in local governance, promotion of decentralization and augmentation of local revenues by enhancing the financial management of mayor’s offices.
The Program “My Community was launched in May. Its implementation period is five years and it will benefit over 100 localities and more than 100 000 Moldovans.
