A number of 200 villages and towns in central and southern Moldova remained partially or fully disconnected from the power supply at 9.15am this morning following the high winds and heavy precipitation that affected the power lines, IPN reports.

The power supplier Gas Natural Fenosa said all its operational teams and the teams of the companies with which it cooperates are repairing the damaged aerial power lines. Owing to the bad weather conditions, the intervention teams reach the spots with difficulty.

The power supplier warns the population not to touch electrical cables that fell down accidentally or hang from poles and trees and not to intervene in electrical installations.
