As of 29 December 2017, individuals who handle their own insurance plans can start paying the fixed mandatory medical insurance premium for 2018. Payments before 31 March 2018 will receive 50% discounts. Agricultural land owners will benefit from discounts in the amount of 75% of the premium, which hasn’t changed since last year (4056 lei), IPN reports.

Payments can be submitted at any of the postal offices or CNAM territorial representatives.

Individuals who can provide proof of staying abroad for more than 183 days will also receive discounts, if they pay their insurances in the first quarter of 2018.

Notaries, lawyers, judicial executors, and mediators who are unemployed and aren’t insured by the Government will pay full premiums.

In order to facilitate individual payments for mandatory medical assistance premiums within the legal deadline, CNAM territorial agencies will be open on Saturday, December 30, until 12.00.
