Prime Minister Iurie Leanca instructed the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure to identify possibilities of repairing and equipping the railroad crossings. According to the information presented in the June 19 meeting of the Government, many of the crossings do not meet the security norms, IPN reports.

Minister of Transport Vasile Botnari said that 20 million lei have been allocated from the 2013 Road Fund for securing the railroad crossings and the works at some of them started.

Statistics show that about 20 persons die annually in railroad accidents.
