The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection on March 10 reported 33 deaths associated with COVID-19. The death toll from the novel coronavirus now stands at 4,183. There were also reported 1,753 new infections and a total of 198,228 infections. Health officials warn the situation is critical, IPN reports.
Tatiana Zatyk, secretary of state at the Ministry, said that 4,866 tests were done today and over 1,000 of the confirmed cases are in the municipality of Chisinau. Eighty-seven of those confirmed with the infection are health workers.
The number of patients in a very serious state remains high – 337. This shows the cases evolve much more seriously and the situation continues to be critical. Sixty-eight persons were put on a ventilator.
“On the ninth week of 2021, the number of cases rose by 12.6% compared with the eighth week. The number of deaths declined by 4.1%, while of cured persons rose by 20.2%,” stated Tatiana Zatyk.
As many as 12,024 persons with mild and moderate forms of COVID-19 are receiving treatment at home, while 18,028 persons are under supervision at home. As many as 4,353 patients with COVID-19 are in the hospital in a serious state.
