The health authorities on June 16 announced 375 new cases of COVID-19 after doing 1,483 tests, 341 of which were rerun ones. Also, 12 persons succumbed to the disease today, taking the death toll to 423, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, four of the 375 new cases were recorded in the Transnistrian region. Two cases were imported from Russia and the UK. Thirty of those diagnosed with the virus today are healthcare workers.

As many as 403 patients with COVID-19 are in a serious state and 23 of them were put on a ventilator.

The number of infections with the novel coronavirus in Moldova exceeds 12,000. Almost 7,000 infected persons recovered by now.
