A man aged 39 was sentenced to 10 years in semi-closed jail for 25 episodes of pickpocketing, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the prosecutors charged the man with stealing things from the pockets and bags of different persons, including mobile phones and wallets, in May 2022 – July 2023. The damage caused to the victims was estimated at about 200,000 lei.
The sentence is not definitive and can be challenged in the Chisinau Appeals Court within 15 days.
