Forty-one National Army servicemen go to Kosovo to take part in the KFOR peacekeeping operation there. This is the third Moldova’s contingent to Kosovo. On June 6, Prime Minister handed over the national flag to them, IPN reports.
The contingent consists of 33 soldiers who will take part in military facilities guarding and patrolling missions, a bomb squad of seven members and a general staff officer.
Major Ianac Deli, chief of the KFOR-3 contingent, said the soldiers were selected at a strict contest. We promise that while away from home, we will be the messengers of peace and will carry Moldova’s flag with honor and dignity, as the National Army servicemen do every time,” he stated.
The Premier wished the soldiers good luck. “Moldova is proud of the participation of its servicemen in multinational and peacekeeping missions. I wish you success in your work. Return home with new experience and with the feeling of a fulfilled duty,” he stated.
The 41 servicemen will work at the mutational base Camp Vilaggio Italia in Pech, Kosovo, for six months. The first National Army contingent to the KFOR mission in Kosovo was deployed in March 2014.
