500 journalists to receive training within European project

The first project that is implemented with the participation of the Konrad Adenaue Foundation and the European Union was launched in Chisinau on April 27. The project envisions strengthening the professional capacities of the journalists and the governmental cooperation and promoting the free mass media in Moldova. The budget of the two-year project is €600,000, Info-Prim Neo reports. The director of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Holger Dix said at the launch that the project is implemented in partnership with the Political Academy of the Austrian People's Party and the Committee for the Freedom of the Press of Moldova. He stressed that the project aims to strengthen the free and pluralistic press in Moldova and contribute to the development of a functional democratic state. The project will include intensive training courses, the production of radio programs, online training courses, a series of workshops on the political communication standards and models, publication of a guide of good practices for spokespersons, etc. The project will be implemented in three Moldovan towns: Chisinau, Balti and Cahul. The Konrad Adenauer Fulmination is the largest of the politically affiliated research foundations in Germany, with an annual budget of around €100 million.
