About 600 doctors working at nine municipal hospitals are conveyed to the workplace and back home each day by free transport offered by the Chisinau City Hall, IPN reports.

Mayor general Ion Ceban said the General Social Assistance and Health Division signed a contract for the provision of services with a transport operator that provided 30 minibuses for transporting doctors from five 5 districts (Orhei, Criuleni, Strășeni, Ialoveni, Aneni Noi) to work in Chisinau.

According to the mayor, 12,000-13,000 lei is spent daily on the transportation. “The municipality allocated 500,000 lei for the purpose and this money is enough for 35 days,” Ion Ceban posted on Facebook.

Also, a taxi company conveys free 20 doctors to work and home, while the employees of a gas station contribute by 200-250 liters of fuel daily.
