The 12 road maintenance enterprises with which the State Road Administration signed contracting activities agreements are about 70% prepared for the cold season. The data were presented in a meeting involving Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, IPN reports.
“I want responsibility, involvement and receptivity. Managerial skills should be demonstrated in each area. I will have my eye on SA “Drumuri” and will pay unexpected visits to see if they keep their word,” said Andrei Spînu, being quoted in a press release of the State Road Administration. The official instructed to set up a working group consisting of officials of the State Road Administration, the National Public Security Inspectorate and SA “Drumuri” so as to regularly monitor the situation on the national roads and to ensure safe movement throughout the cold period of the year.
“Currently, we have about 60,000 tonnes of antiskid materials for the public roads, but need a total of 97,000. 12,000 tonnes of technical salt and 24 tonnes of sand are to be purchased. SA “Drumuri” should urgently mobilize and supplement the stock as winter can come at any moment and we should be ready,” said Sergiu Bejan, caretaker director general of the State Road Administration.
