The first admission session at universities to enroll studies for bachelor’s and master’s degree studies is over. As many as14,258 places of the over 20,000 available were occupied, which is about 70%, IPN reports.

Most of the applications were submitted to the State University of Moldova (4,921), the Technical University of Moldova (4,181), the Academy of Economic Studies (4,053), and the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “N. Testemitanu” (1,813).

The Police Academy “Stefan cel Mare”, the Military Academy of the Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” and the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “N. Testemitanu” filled all the places available in the basic session.

In the additional admission session, the other state higher education establishments propose 787 budget-funded places and 3,878 places on a contract basis.

In the private institutions, there were filled 1,552 places of the 3,580 available, as against 3,865 places in 2012. A number of 1,216 places remained unoccupied in 2012.

The additional session will take place on August 12-14. The final results will be mad known by August 20.
