About 40 firefighters fight blaze at Chisinau factory
Ten vehicles with about 40 firefighters tried hard to stop a large fire that engulfed a chemical materials factory located in Chisinau's Ciocana district on Thursday.
Emergencies Service spokeswoman Dorina Cruc has told Info-Prim Neo that the firefighters fought to bring the blaze under control for about two hours. No one was inside the section for bottling acetone, where the fire started.
The workers who were nearby said they heard a loud sound. Specialists of the Emergencies Service are working on the scene to determine the cause of fire and the damage caused.
A number of 128 persons have been killed in the 1,521 fires that happened in Moldova so far this year. Two of the victims were children.
