Approximately 50 cases of flu have been confirmed by lab tests since the start of the 2015-2016 epidemic season. According to the National Public Health Center, more than half of the cases were recorded on January 18-24 and include cases of AH1N1 and type B flu virus, IPN reports.

In a communique, the National Public Health Center says the epidemiological situation as regards the respiratory infections is under permanent surveillance. According to the supervision data, 30 cases of clinical seasonal flu were reported on January 18-24.

In the period, there were recorded over 7,000 cases of upper respiratory tract infections, up 1.2 times compared with a week before. The severe acute respiratory infections totaled over 900, as a week before.

Specialists recommend avoiding closed crowded places and contact with sick persons, using masks, washing the hands, airing the rooms and going to see a doctor when the first symptoms appear.
