About 3,500 young people were admitted to national colleges and centers of excellence on a budget-funded place. Another almost 6,200 people were admitted to vocational technical schools. The data were presented by the Ministry of Education and Research after the second round of the admission session, IPN reports.
The number of those who opt for dual education, which involves combining studies with employment, is 54% higher than the number of students enrolled last year. This year, 291 people were admitted to dual education, on budget-funded places, in colleges and centers of excellence, while 1,206 – in vocational schools.
Also, 5,501 candidates were admitted to places available on a contract basis in colleges and centers of excellence, while 192 – in vocational schools.
The specialties in information technology, healthcare, primary education, accounting and jurisprudence were among the most popular ones among Moldovan young people who opted for studies in colleges and centers of excellence.
Those who chose to study at vocational schools opted more for such specialties as electrician, mechanic, computer technical support operator, and food quality controller.
