Minister of the Interior Victor Catan said the measures to ensure security during the CIS summit were initiated one week ago. In order to avoid conflicts, the police officers visited the persons under police supervision, including vulnerable persons, drug addicts and recidivists, and told them to avoid traveling near the increased security zones. Catan said the police will make sure that the streets along which the convoys will travel are not crossed by other vehicles, people or animals. About 30% of the municipal police officers will ensure the smooth running of the summit, while the rest will focus on public order. Measures will be taken to avoid traffic jams, while a number of policemen will patrol the Transnistrian border so as not to allow criminals to cross it.
