Acting president of Chisinau Appeals Court replaced

Judge Anatolie Minciuna was named acting president of the Chisinau City Appeals Court, as the Superior Council of Magistracy decided on September 14, IPN reports.

Anatolie Minciuna has worked in the judicial system starting with 1991. By the President’s decree of February 28, 2008, he was appointed judge of the Chisinau City Appeals Court by transfer. By its decision of September 22, 2020, the Superior Council of Magistracy proposed that Parliament should name Anatolie Minciuna as judge of the Supreme Court of Justice.

Until now, the post of president of the Chisinau City Appeals Court was held on an interim basis by judge Ana Panov.

The post of president of the Chisinau City Appeals Court fell vacant after President Maia Sandu in May annulled the decree by which Vladislav Clima was named to this position. According to President Sandu, the Superior Council of Magistracy violated the legal procedures and allowed an inadmissible conflict of interest when it suggesting naming Clima to this post.
