Authorities intend to identify two of the most vulnerable areas, where pilot projects to prevent flood risks will be implemented. They could be financed by the European Investment Bank, under favourable conditions.
The subject was discussed by the Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, Georgeta Mincu, with the EIB representative, Antonio Castillo, IPN reports, referring to a MADRM press release.
Discussions focused on the urgent need to develop a national action plan to prevent and reduce the consequences of floods in high risk areas, based on a feasibility study developed in 2014, as part of a project funded by the EIB.
The feasibility study cost 2.5 million euros.
