The Chisinau City Hall will organize a large-scale concert on the birthday of the late poet Grigore Vieru, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Culture Division head Lucia Culev said Monday that the plan of activities that will be carried out on this occasion includes a concert involving Moldovan and Romanian artists similar to that organized by the poet when he turned 70. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said a Chisinau street will be soon named Grigore Vieru, while the memorial complex will be finished. Also, the City Hall will provide assistance to the Ministry of Culture in placing the bard's bust on the Alley of Romanian Classical Writers in the central park. Poet Grigore Vieru was born on February 14, 1935 in Pererata village of Briceni district. He died on January 18, 2009 after he was involved in a road accident not far from Chisinau.
