Agricultural output up 3.7% in Q1
The global agricultural output in Moldova in quarter 1 of 2009 was 1,019 million lei in current prices, rising 3.7% year on year, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Statistics National Bureau.
The rise has been determined by the growth on the animal breeding sector by 3.6% and in the vegetal production – up 6.9 %.
A significant role is played by the rise on the animal-related output, the weight of which in the agricultural output in Q1 was 97 %.
The production in the sectors of animals and poultry breeding surged 33% (influenced especially by the growth of production in poultry – 38%, sheep and goats – 26%, pigs – 25%, cattle – 16%).
As a result of the growth of the number of poultry in farms, the eggs production rose 19.8%.
