Agriculture subsidization fund to be augmented to 500m lei

The agriculture subsidization fund in 2014 will rise to 500 million lei, up from 400 million lei this year, IPN reports, quoting the draft state budget law approved by the Government on November 27. Of the 500 million lei, 46 million lei represents the European Commission’s grant.

A sum of 74.1 million lei will be allocated for measures to protect the areas from hail, 20 million lei for rural extension services, 14.9 million lei for supporting the forestry companies, while 15.5 million lei for managing waters.

A sum of 23.6 million lei will go for sanitary-veterinary activities, while 3.5 million lei for building the National Center for Veterinary Diagnosis.

The allocations from the 2014 state budget for agriculture, forestry, fish breeding and water management will represent 1.9 billion lei, which is 6.8% of the state budget expenditure, up 28% on 2013.
