AIPA commences compensation payments to farmers

The Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) has authorized the first instalment of payments in compensation for the consequences of natural calamities on the 2020 agricultural output, reports IPN.

The AIPA website has recorded 106 applications since the launch of this process. Of these, 101 are for mitigating the consequences of natural calamities that have affected 1st Group grain crops, and 5 are for hailstorm damages.

For each hectare of autumn wheat, farmers will get 1,500 lei in compensations, 1,530 lei per hectare of barley, rapeseed - 2,100 lei, resown fields - 1,620 lei, tree plantations - 3,800 lei, vegetable plantations - 2,000 lei, and vineyards - 3,000 lei.

AIPA urges farmers to apply promptly, in order to benefit from state support.

The application deadline is 18 September 2020.
