Alleged authors of attack on “Milestii-Mici” factory director arrested

The police arrested nine members of a criminal group who are suspected of committing the attack on the family of the director of the wine factory “Milestii-Mici”. The suspects are aged between 23 and 55 and are from Ialoveni, Chisinau and Soroca, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of the Interior Alexei Roibu told a news conference that the members of the group worked mainly in northern Moldova. They are suspected of committing a number of robberies. They entered the houses of businesspersons and maltreated and robbed them. Upon a search of suspects’ homes, there were found and seized masks, guns held illegally, plastic handcuffs, gloves, several kilograms of gold and other objects. The members of the group risk up to 15 years in jail. Some of them earlier served time in prison for theft, robbery and murder. The director of “Milestii Mici” factory and his family were maltreated on the night of May 14 by a group of masked individuals. They stole 25,000 lei, 100 dollars and a hunter’s gun. Alexei Roibu said the number of crimes committed so far this year is by 9% higher compared with the corresponding period last year.
