Alliance for Century calls on citizens of Chisinau to say “YES to union”

The Alliance for Centenary, which is represented by unionist organizations, calls on the residents of Chisinau municipality to take an active part, until April 14, in the survey on Moldova’s union with Romania that is conducted by the European Social-Politic Center. The leaders of unionist organizations called upon the inhabitants of Chisinau to say “YES to the union” either at the tents put up on the streets of the city or to the interviewers who will come to the door of their house.

In a news conference at IPN on April 10, Anatol Ursu, head of the Civic Movement “Moldova’s Youth”, said it is important that a large number of respondents answer this question. The credibility of this exercise depends on the number of respondents. “I call on you to vote for as a “YES for the union” means a “YES for a better life”,” he stated.

George Simion, chairman of the unionist platform “Actiunea 2012”, said that after the Great Centenary Assembly held on March 25, the subject of the national reunification has been more often raised. As many people as possible should pronounce so as to bring to an end the speculations about the number of unionists.

“I, being a resident of Chisinau, generally know how the citizens of the capital city think and I’m confident that they are mainly unionists. As regards this democratic exercise or public consultation, we will certainly urge the citizens to say “YES to the union”, stated Ion Leashchenko, chairman of the National Unity Bloc.

Chairman of the Association “UNIREA - ODIP” Vlad Biletski called upon the inhabitants of Chisinau to also pronounce online, on decid.md. He noted it is important that the people take an active part and say what they feel so that it is known how many people in Chisinau are for the union and how many are against.

The unionists made public the next events that they will organize during the Centenary Year 2018. On July 1, there will be held a unionist demonstration in Romania’s Alba – Iulia that will end with a march up to Chisinau. Throughout summer, young unionists will inform the people all over Moldova about the benefits of the union with Romania. On September 1, a large-scale event will be staged in Chisinau.
