Over 100 taxpayers operating in the field of passenger transport by taxi were checked by the State Tax Service in the first six months of this year. As a result, taxes and duties totaling 14.6 million lei, late payment increases of 8.8 million lei and tax penalties of 5.4 million lei were additionally calculated to be paid into the national public budget, IPN reports.

According to the Service, 540 cases were additionally identified regarding the illegal performance of entrepreneurial activities in the field of passenger transport by taxi. There were calculated tax penalties in the total amount of 880,800 lei.

The irregularities ascertained by the State Tax Service are related to the non-use of cash registers for cash, non-declaration or under-declaration of the obtained income, payment of envelope wages, illegal performance of entrepreneurial activities in the field of passenger transport by taxi.
